Preparation:
Photos are usually the most important ingredients of a selling presentation. So, it makes sense to get at least one in there as the first step after having installed the "bones" of a new template. Start by displaying photo(s) in the sizes you prefer to use in your presentations and work from there. For example, my sample template has plenty of horizontal room for photos - almost the entire width of the screen is available. So, I've anticipated it will readily accomodate fairly large photos. Some templates that feature columns of content, such as those that include a side bar or are laid out with text to appear to the left or right of photos, will require smaller photos to maintain a balanced appearance (and fit on your shopper's screens). That, in turn will effect how you prepare your photos for display in the template. Here is not the place for me to fully discuss photo optimizing but it is very important and directly related to how you use photos in your presentations. If you are not familiar with photo preparation for the web (and eBay) The Big Four: Crop, Cutaway, Resample, Compress tutorial will be help a lot (you'll need to use your web browser's back button to return here). Soon enough your template will be ready for "production". That's when the Template Helper particularly shines as a quick and efficient way to insert, remove, or replace existing pictures as a part of creating new item presentations. The slides below show how that is accomplished... |

Thorough instructions including Step By Step are included in the Template Helper itself. Instructions for increasing your web browser screen size If you are having trouble fitting the tutorial slides along with the captions into your viewing window first try maximizing the window. If that doesn't do the trick try using the "Full Screen" option in your web browser's tool bar under "View". |
